Wouldn’t it be nice if one parent could stay home and take care of the kids all day? Unfortunately, for most moms today, this is no longer an option. Not only are you expected to contribute to the household income, but the kids and the husband still expect mom to do all the “things” moms do! This makes for long days, long nights, and not much time for mom to take care of herself, least of all sticking to her “pre mom” skin care routine.
Make the Most of Your Limited Time
Since time is going to be limited, you need to make the most of it. Instead of rushing through a shower in the morning, take your shower or bath at night. This is going to serve two purposes. First, you will actually have the time needed to properly shower instead of “jumping in and out” and barely get the shampoo out of your hair. Secondly, this will give you some “me” time and allow you to get rid of all that stress that has built up during the day. Put the kids to bed, fill the tub, light some candles, and R-E-L-A-X.
Focus on the Important Areas
If you were to look at 10 working mothers, what is the one thing most of them would have in common? If you said “tired eyes,” give yourself a gold star. Moms are getting up earlier and going to bed later now. This means less rest and more stress. One of the main areas that pays the price is your eyes. You start to see dark circles under them and wrinkling around them. Rejuvenation and anti-age products are going to play a significant role in allowing you to look like you are well rested even when you are running on fumes.
Using the Right Makeup Products
It becomes very easy to just start picking up products that are there versus what you actually need. Using the wrong types of makeup can be just as bad as ignoring your skin altogether. Do not use products that are going to clog your pores or that are for the wrong type of skin. Take a Saturday afternoon and make an appointment with a skin care specialist. Find out what products are going to work for you and make sure you keep them in stock.
Being a working mom is not easy, nobody ever said it was, but you still need to make time for yourself, especially if you want to keep your skin looking young and radiant. Even with minimal time, by using the right products and focusing on the right areas, you can avoid looking like a “tired” mom and be the mom that has everyone else asking, “I don’t know how she does it!”
